Cheese Whiz BBS was an Electronic Bulletin board service which ran from 1990 to 1996.  In it's heyday, it was averaging 30-50 calls a day but by 1996, all had switched to the World Wide Web now what everyone calls "the internet" and we were lucky to get a couple of calls a week.

It began life on a laptop computer running my own software with floppy disk drives (remember those?).  But by 1990, I had found a BBS program named Wildcat which offered everything mine did and more, totally configurable and with many capabilities mine did not have so we switched but had to get a computer with a "hard drive". Our first harddrive was 20 megabytes.  And we had plenty of room. We got a "fast modem" too (2400 baud). :)  We carried a lot of text files, many of which were either transferred to my webnet or the www.ewtn.com website. For example we had many of the Vatican documents like Humana Vitae but also early in the game, started to feature health files also. (Especially when our son decided to go to school to become a medical provider.)

We ran the CIN (Catholic information network) echos for many years and other networks from time to time..  CIN hosted the mailing lists on their own server for several years but now, the CIN listserves (which I owned 2 of) are hosted on yahoo and other servers.
